Akman Construction was engaged as Construction Manager to construct a new funeral home addition to the existing Chesed Shel Emes Chapel. This funeral home opened its doors in 1933 and thanks to a capital campaign, the building will support the Jewish community for generations to come.
Project attributes include a large lobby, state-of-the-art mortuary equipment, offices, storage rooms, large meeting rooms and a new kitchen. The exterior facade is comprised of brick, Tyndall stone & EIFS with punched fibreglass windows. New mechanical & electrical systems are installed to include a security system. A 4,000lb traction elevator was also installed.
