Chesed Shel Emes – Chapel

Winnipeg, Manitoba

Akman Construction was engaged as Construction Manager to construct a new funeral home addition to the existing Chesed Shel Emes Chapel. This funeral home opened its doors in 1933 and thanks to a capital campaign, the building will support the Jewish community for generations to come.

Project features include a spacious lobby, modern mortuary equipment, offices, storage rooms, large meeting spaces, and a new kitchen. The exterior façade comprises brick, Tyndall stone, and EIFS, featuring punched fiberglass windows. New mechanical and electrical systems, including a security system, have been installed. Additionally, a 4,000-lb traction elevator was installed.
