The Food Development Centre (FDC) is a 57,000 square-foot facility in Portage la Prairie’s McMillan Industrial Park. It is a fee-for-service facility that provides product commercialization and technical and research support for agri-food businesses. Akman completed a significant renovation and expansion of the facility, which includes laboratories, a pilot plant, incubation suites, offices, and research area stations.
Akman completed the additions and renovations while the facility remained operational, and CFIA food safety guidelines were maintained throughout the construction.
