The Hemodialysis Unit was designed and constructed as an addition to the Thompson General Hospital. More than 24 patients who previously had to travel to Winnipeg, 770 kilometres south for dialysis, can now receive treatment close to home right in Thompson. Completed in 2007, the facility features 10 beds and 2 isolation rooms.
Akman supplied and installed German engineered Lauer Dialysis Equipment, the first permanent installation of its kind in Canada.
