Akman Construction, in collaboration with MIT, built the Women’s Correctional Centre (WCC) in Headingley, Manitoba, for the Manitoba Department of Justice. The multi-level security facility has a rated capacity of 196 offenders and is among the most advanced correctional facilities for women in North America.

The main administration building at WCC is designed to attain Silver LEED status, making it the first prison in Western Canada to achieve this designation.
