Akman has recently completed construction of a new four-storey, 93,000-square-foot head office for Payworks on a vast 8-acre property. The new building incorporates a pre-cast concrete structure and architectural finishes, serving as a well-considered addition to the Fort Garry landscape in south Winnipeg.

The Paywork head office is twice the size of its previous location and is designed to accommodate continued growth, with consideration for future building and parking lot expansion. The structure includes a separate two-level pre-cast parkade for approximately 200 vehicles and a surface lot.

As construction manager, Akman was engaged early in the design process, allowing us to involve key trades and provide critical design and cost input to meet Payworks’ budget targets. Our influence can be seen in some of the unique aspects of the building, including a large fitness area and golf simulator, exterior landscaping featuring an employee patio, basketball court, natural plantings, and three ponds.
