Akman Construction reconstructed this landmark Winnipeg building, respecting the original architecture complete with terrazzo flooring throughout and a new flamed granite podium on entry. The project included completely stripping the interiors, reglazing the structure, and installing new roofing, mechanical and electrical systems.
The mechanical system was revised which affected the capital cost marginally, but provided a 25% more efficient system. An alternate glazing supplier was sourced which saved $75,000 and 8 weeks in fabrication time.
