Wesley Hall, one of the original buildings of the University of Winnipeg, officially opened in 1896. Akman Construction undertook a major historical restoration a few years ago in order to replace the original exterior cladding with new sandstone imported from Nova Scotia, Canada. A new slate roof was also installed and a new concrete foundation was introduced to stabilize the structure.
The exterior cladding project, which preserves the historic character of the building, was honoured with several masonry awards for its remarkable achievement.
